San Francisco, National Disrespect

Warship to good home.

In a classless show of disrespect, one of the city supervisors in San Francisco has refused to take in the battleship Iowa which was sent to the west coast specifically to be displayed in the Fisherman's Wharf area.

So because this idiot disagrees with the war in Iraq, he chooses to dishonor the sailors who served on the Iowa during World War 2, Korea and the first Gulf War.

Pfhagh!

But before we write California off in total, two separate bills are in Congress now. One to authorize the ship to be moved to Stockton, who has already promised a dock, warehouse building for a museum, and parking area. And the other, which wants to open bidding on the Iowa to any California city that might want to be the battleship's new home.

San Francisco is a beautiful city. Shame that I wouldn't deign to shit on it now.
