Warren Ellis, Playtagger, and Curmudgeons of the World Unite...Okay, Nothing So Grandiose...
Warren Ellis is probably my favorite modern British curmudgeon. He is, also, one of the best, if not the best, comic book author/graphic novelist in the business today.
He dropped something on his mailing list, while discussing del.icio.us releasing a new code called Play Tagger that allows a mp3 to play in your webpage with one click, that made me see him as a kindred bastard and I had to share...
...if the future of the web as a communications channel for the arts is going to emerge from this Web 2.0 bullshit, and if the conversation is going to be reclaimed from people who think hermits making Star Wars models out of autism-medication wrappers is news, then it's going to be through little things like this. Things that make it easier for people to talk...
I agree.
Beware when curmudgeons agree and, even more so, when they try to be optimistic.
HA!
