The 43 Days of Daytona - 20th Place in 2005
Over the 43 days leading up to the Daytona 500, I'll be doing a short review/preview of the Top 43 Drivers of 2005.
----------------
Kyle Busch
#5 - Kelloggs / Carquest / Delphi
Kyle Busch is 2004 NEXTEL Cup Champion Kurt Busch's younger brother. His driving style is very similar, as is his attitude and arrogance. He ran the complete season in 2005 in the Hendrix Motorsports #5.
He had 1 pole, 2 wins, 9 Top 5's, and 13 Top 10's. His winnings came to $4,185,240.
Those results made him a shoe-in for the 2005 Rookie of the Year. Expect big things from him this season...provided that his ego doesn't outshine his talent.
Will sponsorship be big enough to allow the team to field a car every week? Solid sponsorship.
Do I think he could go win a championship? Yes. Hendrix power and the kid has talent...provided his ego doesn't get in the way.
Do I think he could win a race or two and have a good season? Yes, he will win a race or two this season with a high probability of winning more than two.
