The Hammer Falls on the #48...But Not as Hard as It Should Have...

Chad Knaus won't be at the track until the 5th race of the season. A four race suspension was handed down by NASCAR today, along with a $25,000 fine.

Now, the other team that got penalized at Daytona got a monetary fine plus forfeiting 25 points in the Championship standings.

But...the 48 hasn't lost any points. And this isn't their first infraction. Knaus was in trouble last year for cheating. I'm calling bullshit.

Not to take 25 points from this team in light of the infractions is a crock.

There isn't a level playing field. The Staubach/Aikman DLP #96 was penalized owner and driver points, plus a monetary fine for a carburetor. Knaus and Johnson's penalty should have been higher because they had engaged in similar activity last season.

Yes children, cheaters never prosper...unless they drive or work in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup.

SIDEBAR: Johnson's World partytime. Excellent. Johnson is worried about the reputation of the 48 and how this will reflect on all the other wins that they have. I think it calls into question and taints everything he and Knaus have done together. He lost whatever respect I had for him with that dedicating the victory at the Daytona 500 to the "Haters of the 48." The cocky bastard gets caught cheating and skates(No championship points have been taken from them). Let's see how he feels when he comes back to earth over the next 3 races without his puppet master.
