The Myths of the Dubai Ports World Deal
Media Matters has a great article with multiple links to the myths surrounding the Dubai Ports World deal.
The Bush Administration is employing their honored tradition of sleight of hand. They continue talking about other things waiting for the story to die.
The bits that leaped out at me was the translated letter supposedly from al-Qaida to a United Arab Emirates official in which the letter writer claims that al-Qaida has infiltrated the UAE at many levels and in many places. And the paragraph that delineates how much security the new ports master would really be responsible for.
Add to this the quote from Donald Rumsfeld about not being aware of the full ramifications of the ports deal, because he had just heard of it...
