Last M*A*S*H Closes...

The last U.S. Army MASH unit is closed. Its tents and equipment turned over to the Pakistani Army.

This unit began its service on the World War One battlefields of France and it ends its career in Pakistan helping the people injured and forced from their homes by the earthquakes that struck that region a few months ago.

The Army is transitioning to the Combat Support Hospital model which will require doctors and nurses to be out in the field instead of waiting for them to be flown in.
