This Should Have Made the News...

Former NBA All-Star Karl Malone did a great thing in the days following Hurricane Katrina.

"There was a lot of red tape, and I ain't got time for that. I found out that if you're going to do something good, just go ahead and do it. FEMA didn't approve, but we did it for the people."


The quote is from the Quick Quote section of the New American magazine from October 31, 2005.

Malone brought his Arkansas-based logging company crew and heavy equipment down to Pascagoula, Mississippi. They spent 2 weeks doing no-charge work, hauling away debris on private property.

Credit where credit is due. Karl Malone did a great thing. And he deserves someone mentioning it.
