The Justification for Red Light Cameras

How naive do the companies who manufacture these things and the municipalities who put them up really think the American public is?

These things are designed to make money for the manufacturer and the governing body who put them up.

Traffic safety, my eye.

They aren't there to prevent wrecks. They are there to maximize the profit potential associated with traffic violators who due to limited law enforcement resources would "get away" with it without said cameras being in use.

Wrecks are still going to happen.
